What do you enjoy most/least about your job?
The best thing about my job as a CPA is that I get the chance to see how different
businesses work from the inside. I enjoy touring business operations and
talking with the founders and employees. It is very interesting learning how
successful business got that way. My least favorite part of my job is definitely
tax season.
If you could have any job in the world, what would that be?
It would either be my bosses job as a partner in the firm or a professional poker
player. A professional poker player may have a little more fun though.
Who is your role model and why?
I am lucky in that I have had many great role model’s through my career.
Teachers, co-workers and friends have all been great role models for me. It
would be hard for me to name one person without giving the others the
recognition they deserve.
Why did you join the Young Business Council?
I joined as soon as I heard about it. I thought it would be a great opportunity to
network and have fun with other young professionals.
What do you think Hawaii leaders should do to improve (select one: culture & arts,
business, social life, economy, etc.)
We are lucky that we already have great culture and a good social life. We just
need for salaries and compensation to catch up with the cost of living in
paradise.
What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever traveled to?
I’ve been lucky to travel a lot and I would have to say that Hawaii is still my
favorite place. Nothing else compares to the scenery and the hospitality of the
diverse people that live here.
Where's your favorite pau hana spot?
My favorite place to relax and let off some steam after work is Bar 35 or Pearl.
You can find me at one of those two places on most Fridays. The atmosphere is
great at both places.
Name one thing you're really passionate about.
I’m passionate about succeeding in my career.
One thing that most people don't know about you.
I play poker every chance I get.
